Newsletters
Newsletters Introduction
Newsletters are automated emails you can enable as a business to send out to your subscribers and members. You might ask, "okay, but why are they important?" Well, when done right, a newsletter is the perfect tool to leverage sales tactics to upsell existing customers, drive information about new features, and keep you engaged with your audience without having to exert too much time or effort.
The platform is now the source of truth for both your newsletter catalog and your newsletter subscribers. You can define newsletters directly in the platform — title, description, photo, status, and behavior — and they are automatically exposed through the site config endpoint and rendered in the Default UI. So instead of managing newsletter definitions in your SDK and subscribers somewhere else, you have a single space to do all of that alongside your subscription management.
Two sub-pages under NewslettersThe Newsletters section in your dashboard contains two sub-pages:
- Newsletters Configuration — where you create and manage the newsletters themselves (definitions, branding, behavior).
- Subscribers — where you view and manage the customers subscribed to your newsletters.
Newsletter Configuration
Newsletter Configuration is where you define the newsletters your customers can subscribe to. Each newsletter is a first-class record on the platform with its own fields, status, and rules.
Listing Newsletter Configurations
To view your configured newsletters:
- On your Dashboard, hover over your left navigation menu and choose Newsletter
- Click the Newsletters sub-page
- You'll see a list of all your current newsletters with their status and key details

Creating a Newsletter
- From the Newsletters page, click the New button
- Fill out the newsletter fields (see below)
- Don't forget to save
Configurable Fields
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Yes | The display name of the newsletter shown to subscribers |
| Subtitle | No | A short tagline displayed below the title |
| Description | No | Longer descriptive text explaining what the newsletter covers |
| Photo / Icon | No | An image or icon to brand the newsletter in the Default UI |
| Status | Yes | Active or Inactive — controls whether the newsletter is visible to end users |
| addToRegistration | No | If enabled, the newsletter appears as a checkbox in the registration form |
| onlySubscribers | No | If enabled, the newsletter is only available to customers with an active subscription |

Editing a Newsletter
To edit a newsletter, click the ellipsis "···" menu on the newsletter row and select Edit. All configurable fields above can be updated, and changes take effect immediately for any new end-user requests.
Enabling or Disabling a Newsletter
Use the Status field to mark a newsletter as Active or Inactive.
Inactive newsletters are hidden from end users. They will not appear in the Default UI newsletter modals, in the registration form, or in the site config endpoint response. Existing subscribers to an inactive newsletter are preserved but will not see it in their dashboard until it is reactivated.
Deleting a Newsletter Configuration
To delete a newsletter, click the ellipsis "···" menu on the newsletter row and select Delete. This removes the newsletter from your catalog. To temporarily hide a newsletter without losing its history, set it to Inactive instead.
How Newsletters Surface to End Users
Once a newsletter is Active:
- It is returned in the site config endpoint alongside your products and plans, with all configured fields exposed
- It appears in the Default UI newsletter section on the customer dashboard
- It is rendered in the two newsletter URL triggers:
?view=newsletterand?view=newsletter-update— both for authenticated and non-authenticated users - If
addToRegistrationis enabled, it appears as a checkbox in the registration form
Note: SDK-defined newsletters (Pelcro.uiSettings.newsletters) remain supported for backward compatibility but are deprecated in favor of platform-managed newsletters. We recommend migrating any SDK-defined newsletters to the platform.
Newsletter Subscribers
The Subscribers sub-page is where you view and manage the customers who have signed up for your newsletters. This is the page previously known simply as "Newsletters" — the existing subscriber-management workflows are unchanged.
Listing Subscribers
To view your subscribers:
- On your Dashboard, hover over the left navigation menu and choose Newsletters
- Click the Subscribers sub-page
- You'll see all your newsletter subscribers with the corresponding information: creation date, source, and email

Alternatively, you can also see which newsletters a customer is subscribed to on the right-hand side of a customer profile.
Viewing Subscriber Details
If you want to view more details of a specific subscriber record, click on the newsletter email line item, or alternatively click on the ellipsis "···" menu to the right-most column, followed by View newsletter.
After navigating to the subscriber details screen, you will find two sections as shown below:

- Upper section — contains the relevant details for the subscriber.
- Lower section — contains a History table that records any changes made to the subscriber's lists whenever subscribers are created or updated. This section can be leveraged as a logging mechanism which can also be exported.
Adding a Subscriber Manually
- Head to the Subscribers sub-page
- Click the New button
- Fill out the subscriber information and select the newsletter(s) they should be subscribed to
- Don't forget to save
Deleting a Subscriber
To delete a subscriber, click the three ellipses on the subscriber row and click Edit. You can choose to edit the record or delete it by clicking the button in the lower right corner. Additionally, if a user unsubscribes from their dashboard, the corresponding subscriber record will no longer appear in your list.
Exporting Subscribers
To export your subscribers list, click the Export button on the Subscribers page.
NEWSLETTER CONSENTYou need consent for your customers to be subscribed to your newsletters, which is why this is uneditable off the platform. The consent sections fill out automatically when the customer agrees to sign up for your newsletter. This is important from a privacy regulatory standpoint.
Newsletter Integrations
We offer a variety of integrations with different marketing platforms that can help you sync your Pelcro Newsletters into your platform of choice automatically. Make sure to explore our Integrations section for more details.
Newsletter Templates
You can have several newsletters, each tailored to be sent at different times or for different situations. These newsletters can include feature announcements, partnerships, or informative pieces that drive traffic to your blog.
QUICK TIPThe trick to successful newsletter creation is to have set templates for each category you plan to send and switch out information and graphics per issue to embrace optimal efficiency.
