Address

The customer address contains all the necessary information for the billing or shipping addresses to be collected from the customer.

Address types

An address can either be of type shipping or type billing. A customer can have multiple addresses of the same type, but can only have one default address of the same type at all times.

Default address

Creating a new customer in CRM and filling the Default address form will automatically create both shipping and billing addresses with the same information, and flag them as default.

To flag another address as the default, just click on the options button and then click on "Set as default" from the addresses list in the customer view.

Shipping address

The shipping address represents the address a customer can receive a shipment at. The shipping address will not be displayed on the customer's PDF invoice. A shipping address can be associated with a subscription, where any fulfillment created for that subscription will use the shipping address associated with that subscription. A subscription can only be associated with one shipping address. The shipping address of a subscription will be exported along with the subscription data. If the taxes module is enabled, the shipping address is used to calculate the taxes on the invoice. Taxes can also be calculated before the purchase is made using the order endpoint which will also use the shipping address to preview the taxes.

The shipping address will be required if one of the following is true:

  • The address is flagged as required in the product configuration
  • The taxes module is enabled
  • Country restrictions are configured in the product

Note that editing the shipping address is restricted if this address was used to calculate taxes for a subscription.

Billing address

The billing address represents the address that will appear on the invoice that the customer will receive. If set, the billing address will be displayed in the upcoming invoices. The billing address of a customer will be exported along with the customer data.

Note

You can edit the state of the address as long as the address is not tied to any active subscriptions or e-commerce orders.

  • Phone

NOTE: you can search for existing addresses by either fully or partially entering the information related to the existing address.
