Google Analytics

What is the Google Analytics integration?

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic, operating within the Google Marketing Platform brand. This allows you to leverage the power of both Pelcro and MailChimp without requiring any code.

How to create a Google Analytics account?

First, start by creating a Google account (if you don't already have one). Then go to the Google Analytics website.
After making sure you're signed in to your Google account on the browser, click on the "Start measuring".
This will prompt you to go through the account creation process.

Once you've gone through the Analytics creation process, you will be redirected to the Google Analytics Dashboard page. This is where you can find your "Tracking ID", which will be very important to link your Pelcro Account to your Google Analytics Account.

Then, you will need to update your Pelcro account and link it to your Analytics account. To do that, go to your Pelcro Publisher account:

  1. Click on settings
  2. Under the settings section, enter your Google Tracking ID.
  3. Submit

Once you've updated your Pelcro account and added the Google Analytics code snippet to track your website traffic, you should start seeing data collection on your Google Analytics account dashboard.

Let's take an example. Assuming that a new customer visited your website and decided to register, your user will go through the creation process. Now, on the Google Analytics' dashboard, you'll find 2 types of actions that will be recorded:

  1. Views
  2. Actions

Here is a shortlist of some of the actions that fall under each of the above categories:

Views:

  1. Dashboard Modal Viewed
  2. Plan Modal Viewed
  3. Payment Modal Viewed
  4. Product Modal Viewed
  5. Redeem Gift Modal Viewed
  6. Register Modal Viewed
  7. Success Modal Viewed

Actions:

  1. Registered
  2. Subscribed
  3. Logged in
  4. Logged out

The above actions can be found in two different sections of Google Analytics:
